Textures
Texture coatings are applied to a correctly prepared even surface to provide an attractive decorative surface finish. Textures are applied by trowel and typically 1mm to 2mm in thickness and finished with a plastic or polystyrene float.
The benefits of acrylic textures include:
- The thickness allows for an increased range of different aesthetic finishes
- Colour is mixed into the texture giving depth and a more natural look
- Acrylic textures have an elastic type makeup, and with the typical 1mm to 2mm coating it can help hide existing and or future cracking.
Texture should be coated with a clear sealer to extend the life of the product and help with cleaning.

Render Systems Australia trowel is a very tough acrylic based coating, consisting of a high grade emulsion and quality texture building ingredients. Trowel is applied with a stainless steel trowel and laid off with a polystyrene float to produce the desired texture finish. The trowel applied finish can be a travertine or circular pattern with the thickness being governed by the size of the stone. The Trowel which is a matt finish, can be tinted to any colour desired, then should be overcoated with Flex 955 Impact Paint to provide water tight and longevity, in satin finishes in the preferred colour scheme.
